For every one person born is the U.S.,
there are 15 dogs and 45 cats born!
"stats from USHS, April 2009"

This is an alarming statistic and it highlights the importance of  Spay/Neuter. There are simply not enough homes in this community to adopt the nearly 5,000 domestic animals that we take in each year.  This is not only a problem in Southeast Missouri but nationally, and around the world there is a crisis of pet overpopulation.

We can not stress enough the importance of responsible pet ownership.  These responsibilities include having your pet spayed or neutered.  This is the best way that individuals can help reduce pet overpopulation and the number of unnecessary euthanasia’s.
